Recently, the quality improvement project of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport – a key project in Sichuan Province – hit a milestone. Its Terminal 2 (T2) parking lot and surrounding roads have officially passed completion acceptance. Now, this aviation hub has 2,665 upgraded parking spaces. It aims to enhance both parking experience and traffic efficiency for the 12th World Games.

After the successful smart upgrade of the T1 parking lot, ACCESS TECH partnered with Chengdu Shuangliu Airport again. This time, they completed the T2 parking lot’s intelligent upgrade to offer more convenient and efficient parking for passengers.
As a large transportation hub, the T2 parking lot has dedicated areas for private cars, online-hailed cars, and taxis. It also has 38 entrance lanes and 39 exit lanes.

To ease congestion, the project adopted several key tools. First, it uses 8-megapixel i9 series license plate recognition machines, which have a 99.98% recognition rate. Second, it applies DZ160 high-speed harmonic barrier gates – these gates operate in 0.6 seconds and can run 10 million times without failure. Besides, the project includes lane management machines, auxiliary recognition devices, and rear license plate capture tools. By deeply integrating intelligent hardware with a digital management platform, the project built an efficient, safe, and refined unattended parking solution.

Dual main-auxiliary recognition machines lower the risk of camera failure. Optimized strong-light recognition ensures high accuracy. Redis caching technology enables the barrier gate to respond in 300 milliseconds, no matter the traffic volume. The parking lot also supports multiple payment methods: offline payment, WeChat Pay, Alipay, and UnionPay. All these measures boost traffic efficiency to handle large passenger flows.
To enable real-time monitoring of the parking lot and strengthen centralized management of multiple lots and lanes, ACCESS TECH set up localized workstations for T2. These workstations support cloud-based centralized control and data visualization. They also offer various functions: equipment anomaly monitoring, AI license plate correction, remote gate control, fault maintenance, video intercom, and emergency handling. Through these functions, the project realizes unified remote management of lanes to ensure stable operation.

Additionally, the platform allows customized charging standards for different vehicle types. These types include internal vehicles, buses, online-hailed cars, private cars, shuttles, and VIP cars. It also supports hierarchical differentiated charging, which improves management efficiency. Backend functions – such as parking lot management, multi-dimensional reports, and system configuration – are clear and easy to operate.

ACCESS TECH displays T2’s real-time vehicle data on a screen. The screen shows incoming traffic, remaining spaces, transaction details, real-time fault alarms, special vehicle alerts, and live images of 77 lanes. This helps the command center grasp traffic dynamics quickly, respond to emergencies promptly, ensure smooth traffic flow, and achieve intelligent management.
When the passion of the World Games meets smart parking technology, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport shows a new “smart hub” image to global passengers. It combines Chengdu’s history with modern vitality and provides a great travel experience for all arrivals.
